I could fly or I could fall, but to never have tried at all Scares me more than anything in the world

End of week 9 and 14 hours of training. Saturday was the first day back in the pool after it was closed for 10 days; boy, did it go badly. I was so out of breath and it was not pretty. I did the 45 minutes but not the exact workout. I tried again today for 45 minutes and it went a little better. I did the entire workout but not non-stop. I’m not sure if I’m tired from biking or I just got out of swim shape.

It snowed overnight. I hope it melts by Tuesday for a outside bike ride. I think I can bike outside as long as it is 45 degrees and sunny. I’m NOT getting the trainer out of storage. I will have to suck it up and add layers to bike outside.

I have to do a 4 ½ hour bike ride this week. I’m hoping that my friend Tina will clear her work schedule Thursday afternoon and go with me. I like biking solo but it is more fun to ride with someone on the longer rides. I still haven’t decided on a route.

Two days ago I was thinking of ways to stay motivated and I got a silly idea about dyeing my hair blonde after Ironman when I finish. I posted this idea to my status update on Facebook and I got some great responses:

"I can see you as a blonde", "you can't be serious....", "I can see you as a blonde. They do have more fun", "You have beautiful hair. Don't screw with it until it starts to go gray", "OK, maybe some streaks of blonde."
I am not going to do it before the race, but maybe the day after in a random town on the drive back home.
